Tree Advocacy Class

By San Diego Regional Urban Forests Council

Date and time

Saturday, March 25, 2017 · 9:30am - 12pm PDT

Location

Ocean Beach Community Center 4726 Santa Monica Avenue San Diego, CA 92107

Description

The most powerful action you can take to protect and enhance trees is to speak on behalf of sound urban forest management whenever you have an opportunity. Citizens play vital roles in supporting urban forestry, calling for adequate funding, planting and taking care of trees, and calling out “I want trees in my neighborhood!”

This short class will answer these questions: Where are the trees and who owns the trees? What laws apply to trees, and who takes care of them? What does it take to manage trees? What can citizens do for trees in San Diego? More information in Tree Advocacy Handbook that all participants will receive.

Join us for bagels, coffee, and check-in at 9:30. Future classes will be offered in other communities, but all tree advocates are welcome in this OB class! Sponsors include the San Diego Regional Urban Forests Council, Ocean Beach Green Center, Save Peninsula Trees, and others.
